Big Dog Kafe is the name of our middle school ministry at River Oaks. Our Mission (which is consistent throughout family ministries) is to produce mature young people living out a Christ-focused biblical worldview who, by the grace of God, are being transformed through the power of the Gospel. We attempt to fulfill this mission through three primary means: 1) The ministry of God’s Word (empowered by the Holy Spirit), 2) Participation in the larger church community, and 3) Involvement of parents in the ministry. It is our great privilege to work alongside parents to foster a love of Christ in these students’ lives and to lead them toward being faithful Christian disciples who make other disciples.
Here are some of Big Dog’s regular events:
Sunday School: Join us Sunday mornings at 9:00am in room 215 for a time of prayer, Bible study, and accountability.
Youth Group: Join us Sunday nights from 6:00-8:00pm in the Fellowship Hall for a time of prayer, Bible study, snacks, and fellowship.
Parent Nights: Parents, we want to support you in your ministry to and discipleship of your children; therefore, we invite you to join us for youth group the first Sunday of every month (or any other night you would desire to join us!) so you can communicate with your children about what they are learning from God’s Word.
Special Events: We have special events throughout the year to allow our students time to fellowship together, dig deep into God’s Word together, and serve together. Email Patrick Bowerman to find out what is currently happening and/or be added to our mailing list!
