Small Groups

Building a Community of Faith from House to House

“We proclaim Him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone complete in Christ.”
Colossians 1:28

A ROCC Small Group is:

A place where we endeavor to match individuals with groups which are as near as possible to their neighborhood. It is then our hope to build more bodies for new church development from the Small Groups concentrated in a given geographical area.

ROCC Small Groups feature several other traits which distinguish them from more conventional small group ministries. Perhaps most significantly, we do not seek to show people into affinity groups. Rather, we presume that the common ground which binds us together and which fosters biblical fellowship may best be found in our task or goal - namely to mature as followers of Jesus - regardless of our age, ethnic background, marital status, stage-of-life or career path.

Beginning at that point, our Bible study time deliberately places the Word of God at the forefront of our attention. We enter into this study asking, “What does God want to teach us tonight and how shall each of us respond?” As we work together to formulate a shared understanding of the passage before us, we rely upon one another to help us personalize and implement what we have learned.

Sharing and prayer become the very weapons and exercises of our warfare in the fight of faith. We laugh, cry and play together. We grow to know, love, encourage and correct one another, all of which results in an unusually deep level of fellowship, reminiscent of that enjoyed by those early believers who “were continually devoting themselves to the apostles teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” Acts 2:42

We desire chiefly to present everyone “complete in Christ.” Col. 1:28
