PRAISE
& PRAYER REQUESTS
- NEW!
Mark & Ella Evans -
Mark & Ella are going to Honduras
on a mission trip, leaving on Saturday, January 28 for 7 days.
Please pray for God's grace and mercy to work in and through the
Foncea's and their team, that the Gospel would go forth and that
God's kingdom would be advanced.
- UPDATED The
Beeler Family - Brody came HOME yesterday, praise the
Lord! (Because Brody is at a high risk for getting sick,
the Beelers won't be able to receive visitors for several months,
though). Please continue to pray that his eyes would strengthen
and improve, for protection from winter germs and sicknesses,
and for growth. And finally please pray for grace, peace,
wisdom, and strength for Josh, Julie, and Maya as they prepare
for Brody to come home and as they continue to trust the Lord
through this time.
- UPDATED
Ed Stucky, Jr. - Please pray for Ed & Virginia's
son, Ed Stucky, Jr., who is on a missionary journey overseas from
January 12-28th. So far, they have seen over 3 dozen people
come to Christ! Please pray for these new believers, for
their protection & growth. Please continue to pray that the
Word of God would go forth with boldness as the team continues
to minister around southeast Asia.
- UPDATED Jeremy
Dieck - Jeremy's (Henrietta Foy's grandson, Jeff &
Metry Hutchison's nephew) appointment at UT hospital went very
well, and he likes his new adult CF doctors - praise the Lord!
He is in the hospital this week for treatments. Please
continue to pray for a smooth transition from Children's to UT,
that he would have a good experience with caring staff, and that
his new doctor would have wisdom to treat his condition.
- UPDATED Elissa
Goodson - Elissa had jaw surgery Jan 29, and it went
well, but now she is experiencing extreme pain, and there is a
chance she may have to go into surgery again, which would be a
major setback. Please pray for her encouragement, healing
and recovery, and please pray for Dan and their sons as they care
for her.
- Pablo & Jane Ann Foncea
- Pablo & Jane Anne are going to Honduras on a mission trip
with Baptist Medical and Dental International, leaving on Saturday,
January 21 for 7 days. Please pray for God's grace and mercy
to work in and through the Foncea's and their team, that the Gospel
would go forth and that God's kingdom would be advanced.
- James & family -
Please pray for James, a student who has been attending our church,
as his family is having a very difficult time, and his father
is in prison. Please pray for grace, peace, provision, and
encouragement for James and his siblings, and please pray for
God's work of redemption in their family.
- Fountain
of Hope Church - Please be praying for our sister church,
Fountain of Hope, in Kenya. Please lift up their leadership
and the believers there, asking the Lord to strengthen
and encourage them, provide for all their needs, and that He would
use them as a light for the gospel in their community.
- U.S.
Military - Please be praying for those serving our country
around the world, particularly Elizabeth Fidler, Benssy &
Christy Hyppolite Jean, Mr. & Mrs. Matthew Loud, Captain Chaplain
& Mrs. Robert Olson, and Mr. & Mrs. Jeff & Christina
Roller, Jr. Click
here for the addresses of those serving our country around the
world - and send them a note of encouragement!

- Adult
Sunday School Classes starting January 1 (9:00-10:15am):
- Sunday Morning Prayer,
Room 213: Join us in the Prayer Room
for a time of praise, thanksgiving, intercession, & supplication.
Everyone welcome!
- Freedom
in Christ, Room 215:
Would you like to have more joy, victory and fruitfulness
in your Christian life? Do you feel like your Christian growth
has encountered a roadblock? Jesus said, "If you abide
in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know
the truth, and the truth will set you free." Join us
as we watch & discuss video presentations by Neil Anderson,
sharing foundational truths from God's Word. We will discover
together our identity in Christ, the nature of the spiritual
battle for our minds, & how to overcome temptations of
the world, the flesh, & the devil through genuine repentance.
Contact Rich Kissell.
- Peacemakers, Room 201: When
conflict arises, do you tend to run away, or go into “attack
mode”? Did you know that conflict is actually an opportunity
to glorify God? Jesus said, “Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be sons of God.” Join us in this class
as we read through The Peacemaker by Ken Sande and discover
how to resolve conflict in a Christ-like and God-glorifying
manner. Contact Jeff Hutchison or Rick Elstein.
- MSL, "Scripture and the
Resurrection: Trustworthy and True!" Room 205.
How would you answer the following two questions: “There
are more errors in the New Testament manuscripts than there
are words in the New Testament. So how can we possibly trust
it?" “Why was the tomb supposedly empty? I
say supposedly because, frankly, I don't know that it was.
Our very first reference to Jesus' tomb being empty is in
the Gospel of Mark, written forty years later by someone living
in a different country who had heard it was empty.”
Bart Ehrman a recognized leading New Testament critic. If
Scripture is unreliable, then the Resurrection is questionable.
And if there is no Resurrection, then Christian faith
is a sham and we of all people are to be most pitied (1 Cor
15.17)). Thus, it should come as no surprise that the
reliability of Scripture and the Resurrection have become
the primary targets of skeptics and opponents to Christianity.
Please join us this winter quarter as we study, discuss
and marvel at God's faithfulness in preserving His Word &
the true testimony of Christ's Resurrection. Contact Bob Pair.
- Ladies' Sunday School:
"Scripture and the Resurrection: Trustworthy and True!"
Room 202: We our excited to announce that the “Scripture
and the Resurrection: Trustworthy and True” (see MSL
above) is also being offered to our ladies, young and old.
This class was formerly our high school girls class, but it
is also being opened up to mothers and single ladies. Contact
Jackie Evans or Heather Cash.
