This year’s Chili Cookoff Carnival & Cornbread Competition was a great success. We had a wonderful time of fellowship, feasting, and fun. There were over 20 chili recipes entered into the competition and 13 different cornbreads. Although the competition was fierce for the chance to win the coveted Cactus and Cornbread trophies, everyone had a great time and no one left hungry. Also, the High School youth group was able to raise a total of $1619.50 for their mission trip (Praise The LORD!). All of this money will go to cover the costs of their trip to Mars Hill, NC in June 2012.

The top three finishers in the Chili competition were as follows:

Sacrificial [Lamb] Chili – Mia Brasseaux

Mama V’s Warm and Sassy Chili – Virginia Stucky

Death in the Pot – Jackie Evans;

Fajita Fiesta – Eric Esmark

The top three finishers in the Cornbread competition were as follows:

Triplets’ Terrific Cornbread – Benjamin, Isabelle, and Savannah Hendrich

Pumpkin Party – Eli Evans

Chili Cheese Cornbread – Rosie Luecke

Come join us Friday, April 13 – Sunday, April 15, for “Created to Connect” – Empowered by the Spirit; Helped through prayer; Encouraged through relationships

We are excited to spend some time with you, relaxing, eating, studying His Word & worshiping our God together! Kathy Davis & Jackie Evans will be encouraging us with the significance & ongoing need to intentionally connect with our Lord & with each other.

When: Friday, April 13, – Sunday, April 15. Early arrival will begin at 5:00pm on Friday, April 13, with dinner at 6:30pm.*Car-Poolers: meet at Mark Evans’ office (315 Lamar St, Maryville), beginning at 4:30pm on Friday, with the last cars leaving at 5:30pm on Friday. We’ll leave Eagle Rock by 10:00am on Sunday morning.

Where: Eagle Rock Camp and Retreat Center in Maryville

Cost: The Retreat will include two nights, with 5 meals served. The cost is $90 per person for any or all of that time. There are scholarship funds available; there is a place on the registration material to request assistance, or you can contact the church office.

Deadlines: Please sign up by April 4th and Register by April 8th. Sign
up by signing the clipboard at the bulletin board or calling the church
office-980-9088, no later than April 4th. Register by completing
registration forms & submitting your payment to the church by April 8th.
